French Doors Minimum Width
Many companies will only sell french doors as pairs.
French doors minimum width. Most of our manufacturers offer a minimum door width from 1200mm 9per pair and a minimum door height of 2080mm both sizes relate to the frame and door set combined. Standard interior door width is 32 inches. Standard door sizes start at 1 foot 6 inches and are offered at 2 inch increases to 3 feet wide. There are a few building code restrictions for minimum width of certain doors.
Fitting with standard door openings stock door heights are 6 feet 8 inches. However these will generally be around 120cm 1200mm 150cm 1500mm or 180cm 1800mm wide for pairs of doors and even wider for doors with sidelights up to 300cm or 3000mm. This is the minimum width required for a passage door. There are a choice of handle styles and hinge colours to match your final choice.
Of course we could have two french doors with those demi panels on one side or a larger panel on one side etc etc. Most interior french doors are a standard thickness of 35mm and 45mm for external french doors the frames would off course be thicker. If you live in an older house or have an unusual door opening there are manufacturers who offer custom sizes. You may also find a few narrower doors in stock including 30 inches 28 inches and 24 inches.
Our four door bi fold is offered in multiple configurations and colour options and a range of glazing options including self clean tinted and laminated. What we d really like are two doors that open outward in the classic french door style but filling pretty much the whole width i e without any side panel. The sizes that your french doors come in will be set by the manufacturer but they are generally between 30 and 72 inches wide per door. Minimum 2462mm maximum 4138mm.
And generally are available in 2 inch increments. The widths of french doors vary greatly.
